Understanding the True Cost of Providing Quality Child Care in Hawaiʻi
Early care and learning advocates and service providers in Hawaiʻi are working to identify the true cost of providing quality child care for children birth to kindergarten across the state. The primary component of the Hawaiʻi Child Care Cost Modeling (CCCM) project involves the collection of information directly from licensed, community-based child care programs. The Child Care Provider Survey is designed to collect data on the expenses needed to sustain services, as well as any and all revenue sources that support child care services.
The success of the Hawaiʻi CCCM project depends on the participation of our child care providers. Child care providers are strongly requested and encouraged to complete surveys as soon as possible. Child care programs are eligible for $100-200+ gift cards. In appreciation for the time and effort required to complete surveys, child care programs/providers submitting surveys will be eligible for gift card incentives. Gift cards are guaranteed to the first 50 child care center-based respondents and first 25 family child care respondents, and will be distributed by random drawing thereafter.
