Jonathan Alexander, MSW

Learning and Evaluation Lead

Jonathan is a PhD Candidate in Special Education at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served until his retirement in 2017. He holds a Master of Social Work degree from Hawaiʻi Pacific University, which launched a career centered on supporting keiki, families, and the professionals who serve them.

Following graduate school, Jonathan served as a Care Coordinator with Integrated Health Hawaiʻi, connecting families and their keiki to mental health services, disability supports, and social services. In 2022, he joined MCH LEND Hawaiʻi as Social Work Faculty, training interdisciplinary students for leadership careers working alongside individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and extensive support needs.

Jonathan joined the Early Childhood Action Strategy (ECAS) Network in 2023 as the CSPD Lead, focusing on workforce development in the early childhood disabilities field for those working with keiki from birth to five. He transitioned to the role of Learning and Evaluation Lead in September 2025.

He is also the Co-Director and co-author of Project MĀLAMA (Mentoring & Advancing Local Access for Meaningful Achievement), a federally funded initiative at Chaminade University of Honolulu supporting future educators in serving young children with disabilities and their families.

Jonathan lives in Waiʻanae with his wife Ashley and two of his five children.
