Keaka Mitchell

Early Childhood Maui Wildfire Recovery Coordinator

Keaka was born on Oahu, raised in Puna, and for the past 23 years, called West Maui home. Throughout his life and career, his focus has always been on caring for others—supporting his community, the ‘ohana of the ʻāina, and welcoming visitors to our beautiful island.

In recent times, he has dedicated his efforts to supporting the Lahaina community, coordinating ongoing medical and behavioral health outreach with federal, state, and local governments, as well as non-profits and private providers. In the wake of the wildfires on August 8, 2023, he has continued to leverage his passion for community relations and engagement, fostering healthcare programming and relationship building.

Keaka has over 15 years of experience managing resorts, prioritizing guest and associate satisfaction while ensuring financial accountability. As a licensed real estate agent, Keaka oversaw more than 100 mixed-use HUD standard and Fair Housing affordable housing units across four sites in Lahaina. In the healthcare sector, he has established and maintained relationships with over 50 healthcare providers, collaborating with senior leadership from large community health organizations and five Federally Qualified Health Centers in Maui County.
